Best of Both Worlds – Unity and Dialogflow

In Augmented Reality, most of interesting development is centered around the Head Mounted Displays (HMDs).  These HMDs can be thought of as really smart eye-ware using Unity to render 3d objects, animation, ….. .   Typically,  for HMDs, there is no mouse or joy sticks to provide user input.  Dialogflow enables voice to be used to provide user input. All that is needed is a microphone.

For example, I user might say “get the manual for the 1995 Chevy silverado” or “Show the user manual for Chevy Silverado for the year of 1995” or some other sentence.  Dialogflow is really good in determining the users intention or intent (get manual).   Dialog also uses machine learning to determine how this particular user tends to speak .  Dialogflow also supports 22 different languages.

Once the appropriate manual is determine – Unity is directed in the response to show the manual.  Letting the user to flip through the pages using only his or her voice.  All while standing over the engine bay of  a 1995 chevy silverado that needs repair.   Truly the best of both worlds.
